Support community groups and animals

As a candidate running for Mayor of Darebin, I am committed to supporting community groups and improving the wellbeing of our animals.

✓ Celebrating Darebin

I want to see more expos and festivals that celebrate Darebin's diverse community and support groups, encouraging others to join. We have wonderful local groups, including a Children's Choir, poetry, art, craft, signing, dancing, and cycling groups.

✓ Improvements to Bike Tracks

Enhancing bike tracks and adding more bike trails will benefit the growing number of cyclists. The St. George's cycling lane is a prime example, receiving wonderful feedback. Darebin would greatly benefit from more such trails, which would reduce road traffic and create safer, more inviting routes for cyclists.

✓ Innovative Animal Expo

I propose hosting an Animal Expo to improve animal habitats and provide valuable advice from local vets. This expo could include pet registration services, information from organisations like the RSPCA and The Lost Dog's Home, and resources for pet health such as vaccines, flu shots, worming, food health advice, toys, alternative medicine like acupuncture, and obedience training.
